This is a simple salad I made using leftover steak. I had almost all the ingredients ready, which made it super easy. I heated the steak, cut cucumbers, tomatoes, and herbs, and tossed it with a simple vinaigrette. Easy and delicious!
Cooking is a commonsense practice, not alchemy. Listening and watching closely while you cook will reveal a richly shaded language understood by all the senses - the degrees of a simmer, the aroma of a roast telling you it is done, the stages of elasticity of kneaded dough, the earthy scent of a vegetable just pulled from the ground - it is everything to mind these details. This is cooking. ~ Chez Panisse Cookbook

Summer (con't)
Hello! Instead of my job allowing me some routine, it made me incredibly busy and I had hardly any time to cook, let alone blog about my cooking. Then, once all my (very sporadic) pictures started piling up, I felt more and more overwhelmed each time I thought about posting. Hopefully, since I'm getting this one out of the way, things will go back to normal - but I can't make any promises.
Here are some pictures of the wonderful food I have eaten and cooked this summer.
