Holiday Party

This year, just like last year, my family hosted a holiday party for our friends from home who come to Park City for vacation as well as the many friends we now have here. In addition to the food, I made a winter champagne punch, which included grapefruit juice and ginger juice, from 101 cookbooks. All of the food was great, and we had the perfect amount which is not an easy thing to estimate! Happy Holidays!

Raspberry Macarons

Today I decided to experiment with making French macarons. I used a Martha Stewart recipe for raspberry macarons, and then made a chocolate raspberry ganache to fill them with. Although they don't look as perfect as they're supposed to, they still tasted great and I am excited to continue experimenting!

Penne with Spicy Lamb Sauce and Sand Tarts

Although finals are approaching quickly, I have had a lot of free time the past few days. I made an easy but delicious recipe from one of my favorite sites Food52, and a simple salad to go with it. Later in the night I was craving something sweet, so I made my family's sand tart recipe that I posted about before.

Yom Kippur Break Fast

This post is very delayed, but this is my Yom Kippur break fast. Although I didn't fast and I am not super religious, I love celebrating holidays and will find any excuse to cook for my friends!

Since Yom Kippur dinner is (or should be) the first thing you eat all day, it is called a break fast - so it always consists of breakfast foods, which are my favorite anyways.

I invited some of my friends who are Jewish over, and included some non-Jews as well. The break fast also coincided with a badger football game, so we celebrated both.

End of Summer Dinner Party

A few weeks before everyone had to go back to school, my friend Amina wanted to have a dinner party for all her friends. I immediately volunteered to help. We wanted to pick a theme, and then plan the party around that. We decided on Tuscany - we already had some great decorations, and italian food is always welcome by all.

Steak Salad

This is a simple salad I made using leftover steak. I had almost all the ingredients ready, which made it super easy. I heated the steak, cut cucumbers, tomatoes, and herbs, and tossed it with a simple vinaigrette. Easy and delicious!

Summer (con't)

Hello! Instead of my job allowing me some routine, it made me incredibly busy and I had hardly any time to cook, let alone blog about my cooking. Then, once all my (very sporadic) pictures started piling up, I felt more and more overwhelmed each time I thought about posting. Hopefully, since I'm getting this one out of the way, things will go back to normal - but I can't make any promises.

Here are some pictures of the wonderful food I have eaten and cooked this summer.
