Tangerine Almond Tart

I really wish that I had beautiful plates and beautiful countertops that are part of a beautiful kitchen that I could take pictures of. But instead I have an apartment with mismatched pots and pans and very limited counter space and lighting. Oh well. I guess I'll have to wait until I'm older to (hopefully) have my dream kitchen. And a dog. I really want a dog.

Despite my lack of pretty backgrounds and accessories for my photos, I think that this tart looks pretty good. At least, it tasted pretty good.

It is a tangerine almond tart which are perfect bright flavors for the end of winter. I really needed this tart today because just as it seemed like it was starting to become spring, mother nature decided to send a blizzard. There is also some chocolate in the tart as well as drizzled on top, because chocolate makes everything better.

Crepes

This Saturday Richard, Maria, and I went to a coffee shop that also has amazing crepes. It is called Bradbury's and we just discovered it. I am astonished that I hadn't heard about this place until now. But no matter, now I will be going there all the time!

Date Cake

This past holiday season I received Ina Garten's new cookbook "Barefoot Contessa Foolproof." Now if you didn't already know, I am obsessed with Ina. A few weeks ago I actually had a dream that I got to go grocery shopping with her. Yeah, I know, weird. I told you I was obsessed! I've been all kinds of different recipes from her book. Everything is amazing (as always), but this dessert is spectacular.
It is resembles a sticky toffee pudding, which is one of my (and Richard's) favorite desserts. The best part about the whole thing is after the cake is done, you poke tiny holes all over it and pour a sauce of butter, sugar, cream, and bourbon until the cake soaks it all up and is moist and sticky. How can that be bad?
